Our 2018 family adventure in Lahaina was a journey of a lifetime, filled with love, adventure, and the magic of Maui.
From the Freckle Baby photoshoot to the daring drive to Hana and the serene moments on the Red Sand Beach, every experience left an indelible mark on our hearts.
And it was our return to the boys’ favorite beach that reminded us of the simple joy of spending quality time together as a family, a treasure we hold dear to this day.
Maui, with its natural wonders and boundless beauty, became a place where we not only discovered the world but also reconnected with each other, making memories that will last a lifetime.

Lahaina, Maui has undergone significant changes since 2018, with various developments and challenges shaping the community’s landscape. Over the past few years, Lahaina has continued to attract visitors from around the world, offering its picturesque beaches, historical sites, and vibrant culture.
However, due to the recent fire, much of it has changed. This devastating fire affected nearly every aspect of Lahaina culture. However the city kept one thing constant.
Lahaina’s resilience and ability to adapt to change, preserving its unique charm and sense of community. As time marches forward, Lahaina continues to evolve, with its enduring spirit as a testament to the enduring beauty of this Hawaiian gem.
Our Lahaina adventure began with a special photoshoot for my past business, Freckle Baby. The picturesque Lahaina backdrop provided the perfect canvas for our little models. Against the backdrop of swaying palms and the azure ocean, we captured moments that would forever encapsulate the essence of our family and my cherished business.
One of the highlights of our trip was the exhilarating drive to Hana, a winding road that snakes through lush rainforests and cascading waterfalls. Although our initial attempt was thwarted by unfavorable weather, we were determined to make it happen. The next day, with renewed enthusiasm, we embarked on this epic journey.
As we navigated the 600 turns and 54 one-lane bridges, we marveled at the untouched beauty of Maui’s eastern coastline. We stopped at several scenic points, including the Garden of Eden Arboretum, where we immersed ourselves in a world of exotic plants and vibrant birds.
Our adventure took an even more adventurous turn as we hiked to the famous Red Sand Beach, known locally as Kaihalulu Beach. The trail to this hidden gem is not for the faint of heart, but the reward is worth every step. The vibrant red sands, framed by dramatic lava cliffs and the deep blue ocean, left us speechless. It was a place where time seemed to stand still, allowing us to reconnect with nature in its purest form.
After our thrilling hike, we returned to our beloved beach near our hotel, where our boys could let loose and play in the gentle waves. This beach, with its golden sands and crystal-clear waters, had become a second home for us during our stay in Lahaina. It was a place where we shared endless laughter, built sandcastles, and watched the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant hues.
