What to do at Lake Powell 2022
Do you want to plan a Lake Powell houseboat trip? We go to Lake Powell every year as a large family, I’ll share with you how we caravan, load our boat, cook, and play, plus the question I receive every year, “Is your houseboat for rent?”
Welcome to Lake Powell 2023! This is our family’s annual Lake Powell trip.
We live in northern California, so our trip begins a few days before we get to this Arizona-Utah desert lake.
We began our Lake Powell 2023 trip in Northern California, where we caravan with our trucks, pulling a ski boat and two jet skis. As we hopped on the road, our hearts were filled with excitement. En Route to Lake Powell, we stopped at Moapa Pauite Travel Plaza, where we picked up fireworks for our aerial display.
Once loaded with $3,000 in aerial pyrotechnics, we continue our drive into the desert, spending our second night outside St. George in Washington, Utah.
As we continue to push through the Utah desert, we spent our second night outside St. George in Washington, Utah. We made the final push from Washington to Page, Arizona, where we picked up some last-minute items and the jet skis.
We got our second set of Jet Skis from H20 zone.
On day 3, we reached the Antelope Point Marina on the Navajo Nation Reservation.
In 2004, a second launch ramp opened located at Antelope Point Marina. This is a private Marina on the Navajo Nation Reservation and is where our houseboat is kept.
Lake Powell is a long canyon lake in the middle of the desert with few access points. Lake Powell 2023 offers an unparalleled experience with its vast canyon and beautiful scenery.
As we stocked up on a variety of water toys for Lake Powell 2023 our excitement grew. Our group was equipped with a Cobalt R7 Surf, perfect for cruising the lake with it’s deep V hull, and a Super Air Nautique G25, ideal for surfing the lake’s waves. We also had four wave runners, paddle boards, a hydrofoil, and a slide, providing endless fun on the water.
The following day we are off on our Lake Powell 2023 trip. Our houseboat requires a pilot to maneuver the boat in and out of the marina. Once outside the buoy, the pilot disembarks, and we cruise north, snaking up the narrow cliffs passing Navajo Canyon on our way up the lake.
We tend to anchor in either Face Canyon or West Canyon. This year we are in Face Canyon again. Check out last year’s Lake Powell 2022 video to see the drastic difference in water level.
